Biomechanical evaluation of femoral neck fracture osteosynthesis

چکیده

Bone geometry, density, and thickness of the cortical layer femoral neck (FN) contribute to mechanical strength in osteosythesis fractures (FNF) young adults. The available techniques for fracture fixation FN are reviewed with respect biomechanical stability. A study osteosynthesis stability FNF three cannulated screws was carried out using synthetic models proximal part bone (FB). experimental were divided into 4 groups. Each group related configuration FN. vertical horizontal assessed two series load. In I, loaded forces longitudinal axis FB II, acted perpendicular direction axis. loading evaluated when displacement 2 mm fragments achieved. highest strengths obtained I both ‒ 1898 N a load 1046 Further, decreasing order, results groups III IV. this study, it found that consideration position according architectonics is crucial fragment triangular points contact compact ensures maximum construct fractures, which comparable normal walking conditions. We hypothesize manner could provide better inserted dense tissues relation architectonics. To ensure stability, each screw should have – lateral wall subtrochanteric region FB, inner FN, head. New screws’ placement neutralization share fractures.

Biomechanical evaluation of periprosthetic femoral fracture fixation.

BACKGROUND A variety of methods are available for the fixation of femoral shaft fractures after total hip arthroplasty. However, few studies in the literature have quantified the performance of such repair constructs. The aim of this study was to evaluate biomechanically four different constructs for the fixation of periprosthetic femoral shaft fractures following total hip arthroplasty. METH...

Occult femoral neck fracture.

coronal imaging; figure 1C). She was treated with osteosynthesis (figure 1D) to stabilise the femoral neck fracture, which resulted in a good functional outcome at 6-month follow-up. Occult femoral neck fractures are frequently misdiagnosed. Once misdiagnosed, the non-displaced fracture may become displaced. When this occurs, patients may need to be treated with hip arthroplasty, which is more ...

Functional Outcome of Osteosynthesis in Intracapsular Fracture of Femoral Neck with Delayed Presentation – A Retrospective Study

Surgical management of fracture Neck of Femur is dictated by physiological age of the patient. An Intracapsular fracture of neck of Femur in adults is relatively uncommon and is difficult to manage. The study intends to analyze the functional outcome of Femoral neck fracture in adults below 60yrs of age treated surgically by internal fixation following delayed presentation more than 48

Osteosynthesis for a T-shaped fracture of the femoral neck and trochanter: a case report.

Ipsilateral fractures of the femoral neck and trochanter are uncommon. We report a 30-year-old man with a T-shaped fracture separating the trochanter and neck from the head. He underwent osteosynthesis using a dynamic compression plate, screws, and pins. Bone union occurred 4 months postoperatively. At the one-year follow-up, the patient was free of pain and had no evidence of avascular necrosi...

Osteosynthesis versus endoprosthesis for the treatment of femoral neck fracture in Asian elderly patients

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to compare the clinical results between osteosynthesis and endoprosthesis for femoral neck fractures in asian elderly patients, and to analysis the factors that may affect the failure of osteosynthesis. METHODS A retrospective review of 382 hips over 65-year old with femoral neck fracture was done. Within non-displaced fracture group, 81 cases (56.6 %)...
